Mom's desk part 2

This is after stripping it, which took forever and as you can see it still didn't get all the paint off, argh!  I'll be trying something else before sanding it all.

My parent's bought this desk from D.I.;  a project they wanted me to do, I don't think they really need it, but hey, more practice for me right?  Here is the before pics.
